Just a few shots from the weekend, Am new here so would love to know your views;

Hover fly I believe

Butterfly, had to go fully manual to get the focus I wanted with the natural lighting.

#1 Eyes not in focus at all... but looks like a nice hoverfly.

#2 too central composition would remove negative space on the left/bottom but the lighting is wonderful

And a welcome from me to one of the hardest types of photography there is but with lots of practice and lots and lots of wasted photos it will be worth it for that final smiling result :D
Agreed that the butterfly could do with cropping.
 
I don't have a hatred for central composition and sometimes it seems to work best for me but there's definitely some that can be removed from the Butterfly shot.

It always seems to be a shame when you've got shots where the body/wings are in focus with lovely detail on the wing but you then find the eyes are out of focus :( damn those eyes!
