I have a Sigma 50mm 1:2.8 DG MACRO D lens and was wondering if I could buy one of these cheap Teleconverter adaptors to increase my magnification as I seem to struggle getting the zoom that I want. If so can anyone recommend a place where I could buy one? Size that's required? Also what benefits and drawbacks?

Thanks
John

You'd be far better off getting a set of extension tubes. There's negligible image degradation with them, they're cheaper than a teleconverter and a 50mm lens will benefit far more than one with a longer focal length.
I'd expect that a standard set of Kenko (3 tubes totalling 68mm) would get you close to 3x magnification.

Now we're talking. Thanks for that Bob. Any pointers where to get some cheaply? and any idea on how much they will be?

Just found some on eBay

Thanks again
