what is it you're documenting? What's the story?
 
I know you were going for harsh flash but these shots look half and half. For harsh flash shots I would think of off camera flash with full shadows for striking image or no flash at all. The shadows here arent quite enough for me. But would love to see more. all IMO of course so feel free to ignore me :)

dod: i was just trying to go for a couple people hanging out. this is basically what my friends and i do, and i just felt like taking some photos of it for one night :)

alladin121: i get what you're saying, i shouldn't have said harsh flash. I just used on camera in the dark, so the effect that I ended up with looked rather harsh to me. I do see what you mean though, some are more harsh than others.
