Overlapping Gulls

Just messing with layers and blending modes.
Any thoughts?

The gulls are all at 100% opacity with a 'difference' blend mode. Brightness ad layer and hue etc ad layer layer added with the saturation taken down.

Cannot currently see it full size, not keen on patterned background but the gulls look good

Thanks. Patterned background is the clouds. Not sure how I could change them.

On a tiny screen it looked to have a textured background as well as the clouds but it might have been the noise as it looks different on my laptop screen. I might erase some of the wing where they overlap

If you want to try something else, don't know if you will like it, but go to the adjustment layer filters and add a Photo Filter, choose Yellow at 100% strength, then go back to the picture layer and "Ctrl (or Cmd) I" to invert the colours

ooh, I'm not sure about the yellow filter lol. But thanks for the suggestion and even doing the exercise has given me something to think about.

Sorry to say but this isn't working for me it the overall colours and the level of noise in the sky that is spoiling it for me
