Plums

Ok since the weather is horrible I decided to go out to the plum tree and pick a couple of plums and try my hand at still lifes. I also didn't use baby settings, for the first time I went 100% manual. Well here are my two best but completely different. Please let me know what you think and what I could have done better.

They both look OK. I think I prefer the colour balance in the first pic to the rather yellowish second one, but that's a personal thing anyway.

It's difficult to say how you could have improved them without knowing what you were trying to achieve. There's nothing really technically wrong with them. The main thing is you've ventured into the world of manual settings and no doubt discovered it wasn't as difficult as you thought.

Keep practising, keep trying different things, and keep posting the pics.

First one for me too, like the second, but feel that the brighter one works better in this case.
