I'll grow more next year ( 1st year here) once the lavender starts to die back, there is still plenty of food.

We tried last year and they got eaten alive by the slugs unfortunately :( must try again next year...
 
Mine got absolutely battered, even to the point of some heads being chewed off full sized ones. with 20 +mm thick stalks :(
Nematodes helped, as did a nightly slug patrol and greased plastic sleeves, when they were young. But nothing was foolproof though.

Ours were a similar story, at least it's not just us!
