its a bit rough I know but its the only excuse I have of getting the camera out and keeping active. Roll on spring!
Its past trying to clean anymore and the obverse is totaly gone. Its a GLORIA EXERCITVS which means Glory of the Army, you can just about make out one soldier on the left. Its AD330-335 so its approx 1680 years old.

Brilliant you certainly have a knack for finding things :)

Could easily clone out that shadow if it's bothering you too much.
 
It's amazing you can find such things! If I had the time to start a new hobby, it's stuff like this that would make me want a metal detector of my own!
 
Thanks, I love history and have seen some astonishing finds.
Good thing is I spend all my time outside in various fields which means I get to see loads of wildlife. Like last week, I literaly got about 10ft from a beautiful Kingfisher that was sat on a wooden bridge. A perfect shot to be had, but no camera this time. The field this came off also produced a coin that is expected to fetch £50,000+ at a coming auction!
