Hi all,
I was tempted to by an Ezybox Speedlite after seeing other's work with the soft box.
Happy to receive CC - this was the second proper outing.
I used a technique shared in this youtube video.
Obviously I'm still struggling with consistency, but felt much more in control than other sessions.

- Before the session I found my basic power output on my flash with the Ezybox Speedlite attached to flash.
- Test base ambient exposure with lightmeter.
- Test flash exposure with lightmeter.
- Adjust levels until the aperture was 30% less than ambient.
- Tweak to taste whilst shooting using shutter speed for ambient or aperture for light power
- set the flash on manual 1/32, an arm span away from the model (Yes - I actually measured with my arms).
- shutter speed 125 and let the light meter tell me what aperture to use e.g. f4
- used the light meter to check the flash out put was lower than the aperture e.g. f3.2
- If the light meter gave me an aperture over f4 I manually lowered the flash output to 1/64
Obviously I'm still struggling with consistency, but felt much more in control than other sessions.
