There is indeed. Big passenger diesels were a flash in the pan really in the big scheme of things, and only account for maybe 40 years of railway history before being replaced by various units. It's odd to think that loco hauled trains (with a few minor exceptions) are a thing of the past in the UK. Still very prevalent on the continent though.
