Preserved Diesels

Steam engines are all very nice, but I'm afraid diesels are where it's at for me. My first post here in a while, but I have been shooting a few big dirty diesels lately. Comments welcome (as long as it's not to try and convert me to kettles...)

There definitely is something about this great big dirty diesels that is appealing!!

There is indeed. Big passenger diesels were a flash in the pan really in the big scheme of things, and only account for maybe 40 years of railway history before being replaced by various units. It's odd to think that loco hauled trains (with a few minor exceptions) are a thing of the past in the UK. Still very prevalent on the continent though.
