My first day with this lens so go easy but crit needed

Nice image and the tone works well but the post work is abit too obvious. Pull it back a few clicks and it would be great. What a fantastic face that guy has
 
Thanks Rubik its my firt time playing with this sort of stuff so cheers I think its a good un wanting to get out
 
OK will tone it down:LOL:

would it benefit from a crop as the picture at the side is a modern aircraf and he is a 40s Raf officer how do I get away with it

Put something else in the space or do a subtle removal bud. Its a cracking pic. Gentle application until you JUST get away with it is the key I think. Or post the original and let some of the members edit it to give you ideas.

+1, tone the blur down. The guy is a bit too central in frame for me, but that's only minor for me.

Edit; Blur much better on the second one :)
 
lots better mate. Great pic to experimant with. You have captured the essence really well
