Recommend me a small backpack...

Hi All,

I am in the market for a small camera backpack and wondered if anyone has any recommendations? I have a Lowepro bag at the moment and although I am happy with the quality etc it is just too big and bulky for a day bag - I think it is a '400'.

I have a dodgy back / neck due to some surgery I had a couple of years ago so I'm looking for something more compact - but it must be a two strapped backpack, not one of the sling style ones. I would need to be able to fit my Nikon D7000 and 2 / 3 lenses in. I'm most likely to take this on a day out:

D7000
Nikon 70-300mm
Tamron 90mm Macro
Nikon 35mm

... and obviously your standard bits n bobs like keys, money, maybe a drink and small snack. A separate little compartment for that sort of stuff would be good. A tripod holder would also be a plus.

I have been googling but personal recommendations are always good. Budget would ideally be under £50.

Thanks,
Fi

I have this one Fi, compact but roomy, it should fit your kit quite comfortably. Drink bottle in the side pocket but may struggle to fit small snack.

Thank you - I think this is a contender. Seems a good price too.

I've also got one of these which are fairly small compared to my normal backpack

Thank you for the suggestions - I will take a look at those more closely.

I think the thing that is putting me off a lot of them atm is how 'blocky' they are. I'd quite like something that is more like an standard backpack but with a camera compartment at the bottom. I like the Lowpro Photo Hatchback in style but it is obv over the budget:

Sling type is easy to use and great when out on my bike. Got GX7 camera + three lenses in the bag. 100x300 - 45-150 - 20mm; and a 14-45 on the camera . top compartment still spare.. VANGUARD BIN37 got mine on eBay.

Thanks for the response but as I said - it can't be a sling style. Due to the surgery I've had that is a complete no-go.

Sorry, I remember when I underwent Heart Surgery; it was uncomfortable even using a seat belt.
