Shot with a Nikon D50 at ISO1600 to get the grain, minor PP on levels only. The last one was shot by daylight and the rest under artificial light.

I hope some of you enjoy looking at these, Critique welcomed!

I really don't like the yellow cast on the first two I think that it is detracting from the photo's all for the use of the incorrect white balance but I do like the idea of shallow DoF photo's of the records and can see that there is room to develop this idea further

Good idea, but
Sort out the white balance. Far too yellow.
Maybe a tad more DOF

I like the warm tone, gives it a sort of evening low light indoors feel whilst at home chilling with some music, and as for dof the run dmc selection is in nice sharp focus & works in my personal opinion, i like them & good music choice too!

Thanks for all the comments. I see your point on the white balance although, having just tried a more natural tone, the pics seem to be lacking a bit of the character. I'll keep experimenting. and Nailed, yeh you can't beat a bit of Run DMC, especially on vinyl

I don't think for a second this is any good, angle, focus and light seem wrong, but i just thought i would put this in to show the pic on a diff white balance (not as good imo):
