Last weekend I went out on a cloudy forecast only to be surprised by pretty much clear
skies and nice light at sunrise. Its probably the best first photo of the rut season I’ve taken in a decade of following the rut at my local deer park. I got lucky with the light and deer being close to the footpath.
This was a wider shot I took about 5 minutes later from a greater subject distance as the herd had started to move off to the left. I composed it so the deer was far into the corner and the layers of trees with the sunlight backlighting them were visible in the background.
