A very nice shot, Dave, considering it was taken with, I presume a Canon 75-300 lens, which is "allegedly" not one of their best.
 
It seems a bit soft to me too, but considering the lens, if it was the 75-300 MkIII, it's a damn good shot of a beautiful subject. I don't have a single keeper from the 3-4 months that I had the 75-300, I don't know about 'alledgedly' being not one of their best, I'd say it waqs out and out the worst lens I've ever had. I love squirrels, whether they are red or grey, but I've never seen a red locally so I have to be content with shooting greys which is why I love seeing the reds.

these are on my wish list for 2014. think its a mammal wish list next year so on the hunt it is when the weather gets better
