I'm still made up with my new 1D Mk IV and 70-200 f/2.8 IS USM II L lens. The focus is so quick and accurate that I'm managing to get shots that I would have missed on the 50D.

I went out for a walk this morning looking to see how the bluebells are getting on and took Bertie, one of our mini schnauzers and Phin, my sis in laws Russel. Phin paused briefly on top of a bank long enough for me to get a shot of him.

ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/200, Spot metering, centre AF point.

Well caught, a lovely strong pose for a nice composition. He is a similar shape to my Russel but has the advavantage of having all his tail.

Thanks for sharing (y)

Thanks Tina, he's a very photogenic dog. He stops with us 2 or 3 times a year and he slowly getting used to me stopping and taking pictures. One day I'll have him as well trained as our mini Schnauzers who almost pose on command now.

I borrowed a friend's kit (1D Mk IV and 70-200mm 2.8) a few days ago and have to say I was just as impressed as you. So quick and sharp--I was tempted to run away with it!

It is a fantastic combination.
