Still trying black and white versions of images.

I think the strong sunlight has caused the contrast too great so the trees are too dark. Not sure. Resizing to 800 pixels doesnt help the detail on the building either.

Grateful for any thoughts.

I quite like it but I'm not sure about the sky - I'm sure others will love it though.
 
Three things leap out at me.

1. The converging verticals. That alone means I hate it as it stands. I don't mind convergence when it's clearly deliberate, but in this instance it just seems undue haste and lack of consideration of the details.
2. The darker trees on the right are out of keeping with the lighter ones on the left.
3. The darker patch of sky in the middle of the predominantly light right hand side.

Assuming that you can't fix point 2 (if you were using film I'd say more exposure and less development, but if you're digital you don't have that degree of flexibility) I'd suggest exploring a square crop. The front is almost square anyway, and the added feeling of stability could help. But only if you've fixed the convergence!
