Shutter counts, its all in the picture

Found on the D700 the count increases by 2 if you are saving RAW + JPGs - just an FYI

That's stupid isn't it? Why would they do that? The shutter actuates once in the process.

Oh, and thanks Dave and dangermouse for your compliments. Still noone found a way to get shutter count for a 400d?
 
I've had my 40D 2 months at the end of this month, i'm on 1400.
