I have the Sigma 50-150 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 in Nikon fit so I can second the Sigma 50-150 is substantially lighter and its af is even faster I would recommend.
Depending in what your shooting I found these days I can often get away much lighter and cheaper f4 lenses as modern cameras have such great iso performance. You can always try stopping down your 70-200 and see if you get away with it.
Again depending on what your shooting with it you could look at a prime. There a lot less versatile then a zoom so there normally a lens to run along side zoom lenses rather then replace. I am actually just about to fleebay a bunch of my lenses to fund a few fast primes.
