Signs of summer already!

So far, this weekend, apart from the bulbs showing and the saxifrage budding. A Robin singing his heart out trying to attract a mate. Last night in all that rain, a frog, singing his heart out trying to attract a mate. I've several frogs, sleeping in my pond, I guess he was getting a head...

There are already signs of an early summer in Greenwich Park, where the temperature reached about 20° today. Not only single rhododendrons in the flower beds but also a large shrub with flowers bigger than this one.

This what I look forward to each year, and did before as well before I left the UK

By the time the flowers open, most of the trees a fully green, the lovely bright fresh green we get at the beginning of summer, and these opening seems to breath a fresh breath into life.

I guess there are prettier "blossom trees" but these to me mark the start to summer.

We've now got nightingales all day and into the night. Hoopoes and cuckoos are calling too. All we are missing are the golden orioles to complete the chorus. The last two days have been schorchio up to 27C, but it will drop 10 degrees after tomorrow.
