For once I don't like my resizing border lighter would be better.

For me it looks awkward as a portrait pic - Would it have worked better as a landscape? I can see the lighting issues, around the forehead and cheeks, but not sure that this B&W conversion has sorted them. Perhaps less contrast and slightly darker highlights would help?

Just what I see really, as I never take pics of people, so I probably am getting it all wrong anyway.

I actually boosted the contrast to bring up the light on his nose and eyes a bit.
