Great series Mark, Bringing the best out in that 500mm complete with 1.4X converter fitted.

You will have me sold on that lens yet..:D

Some stunning shots there Mark, all are very good (y)

Cheers for them... Looks like I have a long way to go before I can reach that level.

great shots mate. well timed and perfectly sharp. i've been out the water for 3 months now, gagging to get back in. hope there's a swell this week.

Fabulous clarity and speed, what a lens...in good hands as well, obviously. (y)

Actually Mark took these while he had the 500mm - he's now swapped it for the 600mm, but I know of one 500mm F4L which is gonna be in good hands real soon! :woot: :D

Wow! Very good indeed!

Again, this is something I would really like to try sometime! My 120-300 2.8 with 1.4tc might be a bit short, but Im sure its worth a try.
all depends on the break mate. there's a couple of reefs near me that you could use a 200mm for. of course the beach breaks often need this kinda reach, but hey, you can always crop for now.

Nice, . Another is seduced by the dark side, and joins the " Big L Club ".

We can have a meet sometime, somewhere.

2, 9, 16 & 17 for me out of these - I just love the sense of movement and the clarity of the water. Excellent set - thanks for sharing! (y)

What a series, and No 4  :notworthy:

I gotta say that I love all these shots. There is no doubt that many of the surfing shots could only be achieved with a looong lens but to achieve the framing and focusing must have been a challenge in itself. Very well done! (y) (y)

^^ What he said. Absolutely belting shots and #4 is spot on.

No 2 for me....but 19 & 29 have their appeal!! ;)
