Speedway my first go!.

Thought i'd take my camera along to a recent speedway meet wolves v poole.

Taken from amongst the crowd, can't wait to capture more next time.

If you haven't already done so, get a skylight or UV filter on your lens. Front elements do not like flying shale.

That's okay mate. In most situations a UV filter is unnecessary on a digital camera but speedway is one of those times when it's essential. It could save you an awful lot of money.

Would a Uv make any difference, there quite quick so surely it would just go straight through if it was to happen?

Was thinking the same thing as I have thought about using a UV filter for MX after taking a few hits in the face with stones scared one will hit the lens

always use a UV as by now i would have no 70-200 left lol. O and wear eye protection too

It's not a foolproof idea by any means but I'd much rather give my lens a fighting chance than none at all. A skylight has saved mine from a direct hit on more than one occasion at speedway and scrambles.

Nicely captured and eye and lens protection is, of course, a very good idea.
