Sunshine on Crummock Water

Trying to get some nice blue sky pictures at the moment as I'm finding the golden hour stuff a bit tedious (and also prohibiting on family time) so took a walk round the bottom of Crummock Water mainly just to get out of the house.

Don't normally do long exposures but the few ripples there were in the water I thought would be better calmed and also bring out some movement in the clouds:

You need a bit of light now and then, both work for me but 2 shades it.

Thanks Andy, just nice for a bit of sunshine for a change, I like golden hour stuff but it can be a bit limiting sometimes.

what f-stop setting did you use for no.1 and did you have a cpl?

It was F14, no polarizer (although I would have liked to) as my cheap filter holder isn't the best at accommodating both that and the ten stop. A better holder is on my to do list.

i had a tinker about with filter holders. The ability to apply graduated filtering was quite fun. Just a gentle reminder to consider the minimum focal distance on your lens!

You've lost me there - looks pretty much in focus from front to back? Applying a graduated filter is pretty necessary I would have thought with a bright sky and white clouds.
