Thanks, glad you like it.... It was handheld with a 90mm macro lens and raynox250, also a cheapy cheapo flash unit, bracket and diffuser.

What a great close up image, very serious macro shot. The fly looks seriously threatening at that scale.

Do you add the raynox on top on the 90mm lens? Also, how far away from the fly do you think you were please?

Yes, it goes on top... I did some measurements on focusing distance and magnification at various focussing points with and without the raynox150 and 250 on my particular lens which you may find interesting HERE

According to those results the end of the lens was 45mm from the fly which gave a magnification of about 1.8x (and then I had to crop the pic a bit to get even closer).
