The first is the better of the two to me but the fact she Is looking away from the camera and the shot is so close there doesn't seem to a be a point to the shot.

Hey Carl, thank you for your comment. The objective was to bring attention to the hat.

I like the toning and background softness in #1 and the clarity of the model. Not sure if the crop through her hands could have been different (showing more of the hands).

#2 a bit to head on for me and the crop below her knee does not do the shot any favours. I do like the toning though.
