works for me, although i would have liked a bit more DOF so that the trees in the background started off a bit more in focus and gradually faded out

Thanks Bomber - out of interest is it just a case of trial and error to find what aperture would achieve your suggestion ?.....i'm guessing something like F5.6 might do it.
