I presume kite flying is a sport?

Taken on Aberdeen beach on Sunday morning. Taken with a nifty fifty, which isn't ideal - so some cropping and PP work here. But I like the colours.

I like no 1, although I find the dog a little distracting, great colours.
No 2 I feel you shout have got closer and shot in a horizontal format.
No 3 is good but the kite is a little too close to the edge of the frame.
Nos 4+5 don't do a lot for me I'm afraid.

First one for me - agree with the colors on that one! If you could've asked the dog to move just a little to the right, that would've been good..

Last two images... don't work for me either. They feel a little 'flat', as there isn't much to keep the eye interested in the photo. But the colors are nice.. I agree with you on that one.

Seems like you had a nice sunny day at the beach, and came back with some nice images.

Thanks for the comments guys. I don't disagree with your observations, though I quite like the simplicity of #5. This is one of the very few times when I missed not have a zoom - the 50mm wasn't quite the right lens here.

As a flyer of a few of thos things what you should of done is ask if you could take a few close ups from behind him.
If he is any good you should get a few arials skudds etc.
amazing fun but hard work.

cheers

Lovely set.
Nos 1 & 2 work for me although I think there is just a little too much sky showing for my taste.
