Just gotten back from a US trip of endurance and drag racing. Sorted out a small handful of shots from the Lone Star Le Mans weekend. COTA is, like most new circuits, horrible for photography outside of a few grandstands. The entirely of the circuit is lined with high fencing, with another spectator fence three or four meters inside that, so no way to even get up to the wire. The spectator banking is never high enough to see over this for 90% of the track. Even the iconic shot from the top of the hill was only visible from a media photography platform. It didn't help that they were inexplicably using allocated grandstand seating for the 6-hour race, although fortunately only a few staff were bothered later on, so most gates you could just walk through. For anyone planning to go, get seats at the top of the T15 grandstand, by far the best.
