The Moon tonight............

OK then here we go :)

To start with here is a small jpeg of the original shot:

Now to the big crop.
This is at 98.88%. That is, cropped down in CS2 and re-viewed with Fit Image to screen until the size indicator in the bottom left said 98.88%. I presume this is the correct procedure?

I then applied USM with 1.8 radius @ 75%.

Oh, and in the O/P I had tweaked the levels to bring out the blue a little, these are as shot.

Here are my attempts tonight with the Canon 70-300mm. Can't quite decide which is better though. I was just experimenting with all the different settings. :D

I suspect the bit of bluring on the side of the moon in the Tv mode shots are due to the IS being switched on. ?Maybe? I switched the IS off when I went to M mode.
