The SELECTIVE COLOUR (oh no!) thread

Selective colouring is a strange one, sometimes it works so so well and others it just looks cheap. There is a fine line and it's hard to find!

Love this pic and I understand the beer can is the focus. Do you think it would work well if you just coloured his eyes instead? Windows of the soul and all that.? Just a thought as he is looking directly at the viewer.

You're right - we have all tried it and I enjoyed it! As you say though, all a bit dated now. How quickly fashions come and go. Heres my little effort from a couple of years ago. I didnt do layers, just desaturated and used the history brush which is why its not too perfect. Good for a giggle though.
