The "What is it?" thread - Part III

Quick clue before bed - not photography related. It's from another hobby, though the two often overlap.

I suck at clues... So far we've had the round bit is 30-40mm across (guesstimate), and that its part of another hobby that often overlaps with photography...

Ermmm... It's not a toy, nor cheap, and they come in various sizes.
 
Arrgh just thought of a good play on words for a clue, it'l have to wait for the next one if we get that far...
 
Yep! Dammit now my amazing clue will never be known... Bonus points if you can name which part :)

It is infact the focuser wheel from my mahoosive scope. 200mm wide and 1200mm focal length. Combined with the dark skies in the new forest, it has shown me some wonderful things!
 
I thought it was some sort of adjusting wheel/knob when you put up the other pic. I suppose I will have to get something up now.
