Thoughts on this crop please

Ive tried to crop this image to give emphasis to the reflection, I feel the vertical crop works better but would value opinions please.....

I much prefer the horizontal crop, but to be honest, I find the shot lacking a focal point in the seals head, and it doesn't really work either way for me.

I prefer the horizontal crop the vertical feels a tad cramped in the frame.

For me the 2nd one, however i agree with Pooley, Its lacking focal point.... i would have moved head on with the seal and focused on the eyes or nose.

But having said that its still a good shot

Thanks for the feedback folks. Photo is taken from behind a fence so not possible to move head on but I take your point Wizz!

i would try and burn the the hot spot caused by the sun as it keeps my eye from the reflection

It does have the eye, though as the seal is sleeping it is closed.......
