I just visited your Flickr page and see you are using the same setup as me - Canon 100mm F/2.8L IS Macro on 70D and you used flash for the Common Darter shots.
I sometimes use the 70D's onboard flash and have been quite impressed by the results. I know very little about flash but have set my flash exposure compensation to -0.67 EV. I don't quite understand the EXIF on what you used but is it +3 EV?
