Made a last minute decision to go with the camera - fell races rarely do much sales wise so I decided to shoot in raw and have a mess with some pp, mainly pulling the sky back as I shot into the direction of the sun so they may be of some worth to the FRA mag. I used the 16-35 with the majority taken around 30mm.

wouldn't worry about the technical quality too much, Adrian ..... they are just good and interesting images

for some reason the B & W seem to work better for me
 
Beautifully composed shots with the stream/line of runners behind and a beautiful location, fine set indeed.

I prefer the b&w's. Here's one of a mate of mine going through a tough spell although I think he managed a top 20 finish.

I like the B&W images, they look bleaker and the single runner in the image gives more of "the loneliness of the long distance runner" feel.
 
like the b&w one, like the contrast and how the runner stands out so nicely from a clearly bleak and miserable day!
