Two monitors or just the one?

I use Lightroom 6 - Is it better to have one LARGE LARGE monitor and split the screen when using Lightroom, or have two not so large monitors?

I prefer to have two large monitors!
Screen real estate is important in PP, so, say a 27"
is my preference to work and another for the tools.

1 for editing

1 for Facebook

1 for Instagram

1 for YouTubing what the Hell you're doing

1 - for your porn channel ;)

:D

1, if a decent sized one, is more than enough for most - I have space but use only 1 :)

But if you have space and money burning a hole then why not two. One needs to be the HUGE editing one, budget £1000 or more, the other for everything else - chatting, email, your fav porn channel etc.

I'm mulling over this too. I have used two really nice SIP Dell monitors together for around 5 years and it's hard to lose that 42". I bought a 28" to clear some space and the Dells are still sat at the side of the desk kinda laughing at me. The 28" is nice but just not the same. It's hard to lose the real estate when you're used to it. I also think they're a nicer quality tho they 'shouldn't be'. I guess if I hadn't had them I'd be more in love with the 28". It certainly seems tidier than it was. I suppose if I had to choose fresh now I'd go for one larger right off, but back in the day monitors that size just were too pricey. My Dells were over £200 each but still way below what a single 28" would have been.

Had been using, a 27" monitor, but also had a 24" which I've now put to work. Fantastic to work, with 2 monitors, not just LR but I'm surprised how often I use it.

Regarding space, I brought a dual monitor desk arm, which works a treat and is fantastic for the price -

I use the same size screens too, the newer monitor for editing on and the other for folders etc. I wouldn't like to go back to just one screen now.

Definitely two monitors, its an invaluable set up if you want to have instructions on one and LR/PS on the other when you are trying to work out how to do something

Absolutely, always had two 24" on my desk (y)

What would you do to improve it?

For one I'd like to be able to choose which monitor is my second default screen and not for Lightroom to pick for me.
Secondly, I want the second screen to only show thumbnails, but that seemed to change randomly the last time I tried using it.

I don't bother anymore, I just use LR on a single screen.

I go with the 2 camp... I'm using a dell U3011 & a dell 2410. Both have this good points - the 30 gets dual usage as being tethered
