Two sides to the same person

I think the first is a much stronger image. Well done! The second is let down by the lighting.

I agree - the first is stronger/better. I think the composition and expression is more interesting

(Don't know the technical term but) maybe could have done with a bit of backlight(?) to give the LHS edge of hair a tiny bit of contrast with the dark background.

Possibly the LHS hair is total black as there doesn't seem to be any detail in it (that I can see, but could just be my un-calibrated monitor) ?can you lighten it a tad?

Agree first is best, second needed more depth to the lighting, maybe a hair light to give more separation?

Thanks for the comments - In general I agree the first is the stronger image, however I liked the messy look in number 2 and for some reason the missing eye worked for me.
