Get onto this, we had a volcanic eruption 10 yrs ago, the light show can be pretty good, they arn't the sort of things you can order up .a good storm with it would be right on the money.

looks like an ordinary sunset to me, the ash is way above cloud level so thats rules out the first. the second seems to have a grad filter at 45 degrees making it uneven exposure.


just noticed your a retired airline pilot, you probably know more than me about cloud level......... I'd best shut up then!!

Ah but with the sun low on the horizon the light has to pass through the upper atmosphere picking up all that wonderful dust stuff.

Anyway no. 2 rocks my world, as golotus says really rather special WD

Both lovely shots but the first is my fave - has an element of mystery and character with the lighthouse and the road. Good stuff!
