Yes
getting my kit together for the firework display tonight and checked my 16GB SD Sandisk card. Some issues readng the card so put it into my PC. Managed to see the photos on it and remove them, then formatted the card (FAT32)

Pu it into my camera in order to format it on the Canon and it said it cant be formatted, change car.

anyone know whats going on and why it cant be formatted for use?

You haven't knocked the readonly to switch to on when taking it out of your pc have you?

Next, I would try is to see if your camera can write to it

or, can your camera re-format the card??? Mine can some can't

Bizarre. Its now working.

1. Moved switch to Lock. Put card in camera. Camera said card is write protected (as expected)

2. Unlocked card, put back in camera. Low level format, then full format.

3. Card worked.

Phew. Right back to my kit check for tonight.

Glad you've got it sorted

Just to double check, when you say you formatted the card - this was in camera wasn't it ...

Personally, I'd be buying another card.

When a card starts going wrong there's only one way it's heading...

Totally agree, just replaced mine for the same reasons.

I wouldn't trust that card again.

Mymemory/Amazon etc usually do the 16GB sandisk ones for about £12.

Currys currently have a 2x16GB Ultra SD card pack for £19 (SanDisk). I wouldn't trust a card that was playing up either.

Why did you format the card with your PC? That's asking for trouble.
