I always enjoy the this view of Grassington when walking down from the Dales way, nestling in the Wharfe Valley is so appealing.

All with Canon 1Ds MKIII+200 F2.8L lens

HI Les,

I love this view, and composition - but the lighting just lacks some punch. When I compare these to the shots on your pbase account - they aren't in the same league.

Have to say though I use your locations as my "to shoot" list - not that I'm stalking you mate :D

I know what you mean about the light, and about 30 minutes after I'd got back to my car (and half way home) there was a gorgeous red evening light that spread across the snowy hills, I was kicking myself for not hanging around a bit longer !!!!
 
I have also experienced that up there - driven up from Barnsley and gone home with an empty CF card, only to see the most beautiful light in the rear view mirror. Roll on October :D when we give the area some payback.
 
Was up at the lead mines last week (walked from Yarnbury down to Burnsall) Light was c--p though! Brightened up a bit when walking up river to Grassington so got a few pics of Hebden Suspension Bridge.

Would have loved a few of what you captured though, alas, couldnt see Grassington through the low cloud!
