Hi all, does anyone have any tips/advice on settings to avoid pictures looking washed out, I know I can increase saturation in PP, but my pictures never seem to have the impact (esp with colours) that I want them to. Any tips for me peeps? Thanx, btw Im using an A200 with the kit lens.

Well if you take this shot for example, when I took it everything seemed to have a sort of warm golden look to it, but its not transferred to the picure at all.

ON the above scenes I think the wite balance is probably showing it a bit cool and also the shot is a touch over exposed.
Do you shoot raw?
If not make sure you set the white balance accordingly before you shoot and check the exposure regularly
Very nice scene you've got there mind

A polariser would cut down the river reflection and might bring out more of the sky.
i guess it depends which area you are metering on.

shooting in raw does give you the most get out clauses as richard just said.

Also the calibration of your monitor.

If not all ready doing so you may wish to consider using your printers manufactures paper and inks. I found a big improvement.
