Great shot, think the first is a little dramatic sky wise but that keeps me locked into the picture! The second pic is not so!

(suggestion) I think that's great, but I've added a small "S" curve in Lr, increased sharpness and clarity a little. and decreased saturation and increase vibrancy (Odd combo but it seems to work)

hay Rick, quick question if you don't mind. what photo editing software do you use? (i use Adobe Lightroom)

I think that's great, but

I don't mean my suggestion is correct in any way… I was not there:
but just trying to get you to try something else.

I use LR and PS. I’ll look at the edits once I’m at my laptop.

Having had a look at the suggested edits, I actually prefer my own. That being said, PP is very much personal preference. I am trying to learn the best way of processing my images for my taste. I realise these won't suit everyone, much like I don't always like other people's work, but clearly they do.

I couldn't imagine a world where every image is "politicly correct" how drab would that be? "pp is everything" - agreed. =)
