weird 70-200 behaviour

Yesterday I noticed that my 70-200 lens refused to auto focus between the lengths of 70-85 when shooting objects at a distance but focused fine when the object was close....any ideas... Never encountered this before... My other lenses focus fine.....

Have you tried different bodies? I've had a similar problem but I found out that the body was to blame

I will need to try that....I have loaned my other body to my daughter and she is in London......

Does the lens have a focus limiter that has been accidently set on? Some lens have this to limit the focus range when desired to stop too much focus hunting. Can be a bit confusing and worrying when you don't realise its been set.

no focus limiter that i can see....... daughter is now sending up back up to try it on that body...
