Weird slowdown

Just today my PC has started taking around 5-7 seconds before loading any website, even clicking on my home page button is the same (it loads an HTML page that is on my hard drive, so should be instantaneous).

Once on any particular site TP for instance the subsequent pages seems to load as fast as normal, it is the wait before the first page appears that is slow. My thoughts are possibly a DNS server problem with my ISP. Has anyone any ideas?

Definitely sounds like DNS server issues. If it continues for some time you could try setting your primary to 4.2.2.2. This is a dns server often used for troubleshooting this type of issue.

By any chance, are you using safari?

I've noticed with Safari that the first page of any website you load with Safari always takes an age.

No, use Mickysoft IE, it seems to be back to normal today.
