Beginner Went back for the cormorant with a longer lens.

Ben, what equipment are you using and what were your camera settings?

the image is soft .. did you use single cell focus on the head?

and from a pp perspective it lacks vibrance/saturation/colour etc.

also it is usually better not to place the subject in the centre of the image ....... give it space to the left, (first image) to look into

lots to think about and consider when taking the shot

It was a manual focus lens that gets soft at the longest end unfortunately the longest I have. It was still quite heavily cropped and I didn't want to over sharpen it due to the noise. It's not vibrant because it was a dull scene, I had upped the pastels and saturation but I didn't want to make it unatural by over doing it.
