what lenses would you have

I'm going to cheat.........because I can!

Zooms
17-40mm f4
24-70mm f2.8
24-105mm f4
70-200mm f2.8

Primes
35mm f2
50mm f1.2 (got the f1.8)
85mm f1.4 (got the f1.8)
100mm f2.8

The primes are great when I do need to go below f2.8 and one day I will get the f1.2 versions :)
 
sigma 200-500 f2.8
leica 50mm f0.95...

nah, the standard is the 'holy trinity' of 14-24, 24-70, 70-200, all 2.8, on 2* D3s, plus a 50mm 1.4 af-s and maybe a 85mm 1.4 for portraits :p :) need anything longer and you might as well just walk a bit closer :p

then again, I don't shoot sports (if I can help it...) or small furry things miles away...
 
Lens choice is always going to be difficult it just depends what you are shooting on the day my choice of lenses was based on a normal landscape / wildlife day when i don't know what im going to encounter if i was shooting a wedding i would probably only use the 17-40 f4, 24-70 f2.8 , 70-200 f2.8 & my 85 f1.8 same in the studio for sport i would drop the 100-400 out of my original choice of lenses and take either the 70-200 or 300mm 2.8 then you come to macro and i would take a different set again i don't think theirs one of us on this web site who does'nt suffer lens lust occasionally i think the only time you are completely satisfied with lens choice is if you only cover a certain subject

I have the following

Nikon 14-24 f2.8
Nikon 24-70 f/2.8
Nikon 70- 200 f2.8

Will add Macro in future and also one fast prime (don't know which one as yet).
