Yes
Alright guys, im considering getting a longer range lens. There are a few budget ones ive looked at but im not sure which will be best.

There is the 75-300 sony lens, a 70 to 200-300 sigma and the same but Tamron.

Any ideas?

Cheers :)

i have the 55-200mm sony and its a fantastic lens every review i read even says its a brilliant kit lens, although depends on what your shooting. the 55-200mm will cover alot of stuff but when you do wildlife the 75-300mm would be best option however some say thats its still not long enough.

out of your selection i would definitely go for the 75-300mm.

Cheers for the reply mate. Ill have to look more into it i think, i think all the lenses wil be ok but i just want the best for my money :)

I recieved one of these today and it's a great lens. The range is awesome and extremely useful. Here are a few pictures of the lens.

Compared to the Sony Kit Lens (18-70) Nothing much in it..

And fully extended...

And here is a couple of pictures showing the zoom range.

Overall a very good lens!

The Sigmas are known for quite a few of them having AF gear failure on Sony Alphas due to the high torque body motor. The Tamron 70-300 LD Di isn't as good optically as the Sigma APO but imo it's a safer buy.

Cheers :). There is one on amazon for £154 for my sony. Would that be better than sonys own lens?

Cheers :)

Cheers for the info guys. I ended up buying a sigma 70-300mm from jacobs, cost me £128.99

How is the new lens performing? I've been looking at that one myself, also Sony's version, but is the Sigma a good buy.
Cheers

In my opinion for the money it's good value

Hi billybob99, yes I've heard that from many people, but was hoping some one could post a couple of shots as George7 has done. Would like to see the zoom range, and also the lens itself, fully extended!
