Hi all. I haven't posted here in a long time!
I have been using a Sony RX100m2 for years, and it's done me well! However, I've always wanted one of the Sony A7 series, and bit the bullet last week and bought an A7iii, which came with a Tamron 28-75 f2.8. Around 98% of my photography is nature and landscapes while I'm out hiking, and while I've never found the focal length of the RX100 lacking (I think it's around the region of 28-75), I've not had any more to play with, so I have just ordered a Tamron 28-200, with the likely intention that I'll sell the 28-75.
So, that covers a broad range - but I'm considering something at the wider end too. I've done a little astro/landscape stuff, and I'd like to utilise the A7iii's potential here a bit more than I did with the RX100, so I am really looking for a wide angle prime that's suitable for those big vista landscapes, as well as being suitable for astro in the mountains. I've watched dozens of videos, read dozens of reviews, and scoured flickr to look at images by others. A Zeiss Batis 18mm would be lovely, so would a sony 20mm 1.8 - but both are out of my price range.
Samyang have the 18mm 2.8 which I was pretty sure would fit the bill, but have released the 24mm 1.8 to complicate things! These are basically the options I'm considering, and both are pretty affordable - but I'm just after a bit of advice as to which would be the better lens to go for? I just can't decide at all!
Cheers
Chris
