One of my interests is watches and I like taking pics of them. This is what I bought my Sony DSC F707 to do 7 years ago and I've enjoyed using it. It has a macro feature on it. I now have a D2HS and my local camera shop has recommended the Nikon 60 F2.8 Macro. Does anyone have experience with this lens? Is it a good lens for taking pics of watches that I mainly take close up? Is there something better? Thanks in advance for any replies I may receive.

The Nikon 60mm is an ideal lens for product close-ups, 2nd hand you could look out for a Nikon 55mm f/2.8 AI-S macro lens.

You could try a macro tube or a dioptra filter first before you spend money on a lens both these will cost well under £20 and MAY be adequate for your needs.

The AF-S 105mm f2.8 VR is my weapon of choice but I got it before the recent price hikes!

Taken with a canon 50/1.8 on macro bellows. It doesn't have to be expensive.

(the movement is a 1921 Tavannes in a French Rose gold case, same era)
