What a beautiful tiger, very striking and great eye contact!. Were you shooting through glass Phil? The image looks a tad soft all around i.e. it doesnt look like you have missed focus, but generally look soft.

Exposure is nice too, the whites aren't blown out and I imagine this is a pretty hard animal to get right with exposure, plenty of detail in the fur. Nice shot

lovely animal and a good capture.

It does look very soft, although the whiskers seem a bit sharper. There's no EXIF so we can't tell what aperture you were using - perhaps a DOF issue rather than simply focus?

This was taken last Sept at Loro Parque, Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife using my Canon 450D with a 70 -300mm lens (not through glass) from a distance of about 80mtrs. The camera was set to auto (I know, I'm ashamed of myself). I thought it was a 'nice' imange and so posted on here for some feedback. All I've done with it is crop it a little. I have no pp software so what you see is what I took.
