Yes
hi iv bought a wide gumet monitor eizo 240 and a i1 display had it a few weeks now but im strugling with it not being sharp
the images seem to be blurry making my eyes funny im missing somthing

Are you running it at native resolution? It should be 1920x1200. It should also be very sharp if it's a decent one.

What computer/video card is driving it?

Also... which 240? CX240? CG240? CE240? There are a few... not all of them very good as some are cheap and cheerful for mainstream use.

err... just the model number would have done :)

Ok.. no reason whatsoever why that should be blurred.

When you say it's not sharp... what are you comparing it with? Not sharp compared to what? Is it always blurred, or just when viewing certain things in certain programs?

If it's blurred compared to another LCD monitor you own, then there's something wrong with it. Return it under Eizo's return swap out warranty. It's a ColorEdge screen so you have 5 years... they'll drop off a new one, and take your old one away. If there turns out there's nothing wrong with it though, you'll get charged shipping.

Word of warning though... if you are comparing a coated monitor to a glossy monitor very critically, you will see that the glossy screen appears sharper.. but at normal viewing distances, there should be no difference.

Make sure you have tested it with a direct DVI to DVI connection before you write it off.

BTW... unless you are working in a dark room, I'd calibrate to 120Cd/m2 not 90.

the other thing, not mentioned above is by default LR generates previews 1440 on the long edge at medium quality. I've found on occasion these settings can make images seem soft, and it may be worth changed the defaults. (only may, only if you use LR)

yes text is sharp i'm comparing to my old Samsung p2270hd I seem to notice it in photo shop and lr zoom in at 1.1 I have nikon d800 and the trinity of lenses and thy are sharp on the Samsung connected to hmi cable the cx240 is on display port and iv tried the dvi cable maybe the samsung has over sharped the images look so reel and iv got used to it when editing on the cx240 in arb then export to srgb then put cx in srg mode go to manu out line enhancer to 3 the images look sharp like I would of expected im viewing my images in nero 9 which they look good and im trying FastStone Image Viewer and ViewNX 2
